Jaeil Disposable Watch, Korean Military Replica

Review by H. Seung

Replica of popular Hamilton MIL-W-46374 military wristwatch but made with one-piece OD green plastic case. It is powered by 17 jewels manual wind movement supplied by Japanese watch company Citizen. Black dial has H3 and radioactive tri-foil symbol to denote use of tritium for luminescent markers on the dial and hands, which has faded. These type of replica military watches were usually sold at shops just outside military base during the 80s and were popular among Korean soldiers because they were cheap and looked like the real thing.

Non-detachable caseback is simply marked as:

JAE IL CO
WATER PROOF

Watch is powered by a tiny Citizen 17 jewels manual wind movement that was originally intended for ladies watch.
